VALUES WITH EMMISION MANAGEMENT
REDUCING GREEN HOUSE GAS EMISSSION
It is of high importance to take proactive measures by measuring and evaluating energy consumption and to use less energy per metre of fabric produced by ensuring energy efficiency.
With the generator investment we made, diesel consumption, which was 250 l/h per hour, was reduced to 70 l/h and nearly 18 litres less diesel was used. In addition, with the new investments and technology renewals made for steam generation in the last two years, 8% less coal was consumed in 2021 compared to 2020. Accordingly, we managed to reduce our total greenhouse gas emission intensity by 6%.
WITH WATER MANAGEMENT
REDUCING WATER CONSUMPTION
The quality and accessibility of water in all production processes is of critical importance for our business continuity in our facility, which we use entirely from underground water source (well). In this context, water meters have been installed on all machines used in our wet processes in the last two years. In 2022, we managed to reduce our total water withdrawal by 28.5% compared to the previous year and the water we consume per kilogram of fabric we produce by 10%.
ENERGY MANAGEMENT
In addition to saving measures to reduce energy consumption, many new investments are also made. If an electric motor that uses less power can do the same job, the use of low-power motors is switched to low-power motors. With the LED lighting project in only two departments, a total saving of 115,589 KW was achieved.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Our facility was the first private sector organisation to receive the "Zero Waste Certificate" in Edirne province where it is located. The main objective of our facility is to ensure the management of wastes from generation to disposal without harming the environment and human health. We ensure that the wastes generated during our processes are recycled, recovered or disposed of in accordance with national regulations at the highest possible rate. In 2021, we managed to reduce the waste generated per kilogram of fabric produced by 6%.
